CareLoop is a care-coordination platform that bridges families and MDWs through real-time task tracking and translation, enabling clear communication, trust, and dignified eldercare.
The Problem
Singapore’s population is aging fast: by 2030, nearly one in four residents—around one million people—will be aged 65 or older. As care shifts from hospitals and nursing homes into the community, more families are turning to Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) for full-time, in-home eldercare.
In 2017, one in five Singaporean households employs an MDW, and roughly half of those workers are tasked with caring for frail seniors. Latest figures from Dec 2024, show there were a total of 300,000 MDWs hired in Singapore, translating to approximately 150,000 MDW providing in-home eldercare. Yet almost 50% of these MDWs feel under-trained or lack the confidence to perform care routines, e.g. blood pressure monitoring, with ~35% expressing discomfort with medication supervision and nearly a quarter struggle with language barriers.
When care instructions aren’t always understood or confidently executed, the hidden burden falls on the family’s care coordinators—typically the adult children—who must step in to translate instructions, supervise medication, manage appointments, and make critical treatment decisions. These coordinators spend an average of 33 hours each week on unpaid care duties, and with over 210,000 people in this role—and 40% at risk of depression—this unstructured, "broken telephone" system represents both a personal crisis and a growing strain on Singapore’s healthcare ecosystem.
Our Solution
CareLoop is a shared care-coordination platform built precisely for families who depend on MDWs for eldercare.
From a single platform, family care coordinators can assign and track daily tasks, with real-time translation. Meanwhile, caregivers (the MDWs) receive those tasks in their preferred language, leave feedback and gain recognition and encouragement messages to boost confidence.
By reducing miscommunication and micromanagement, CareLoop transforms fragmented, "broken telephone" hand-offs into a seamless dialogue—building mutual trust, ensuring consistent, dignified care delivery, and keeping stress at bay.
